Vice President Kashim Shettima will on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, undertake a one-day working visit to Ekiti State, where he is expected to commission key infrastructure projects and perform the groundbreaking of the Ekiti Knowledge Zone (EKZ), in continuation of the Federal Government’s development drive.
According to a statement by Olayinka Oyebode, Special Adviser on Media to the Ekiti State Governor, Governor Biodun Oyebanji will receive the Vice President at the Ekiti Agro Allied International Cargo Airport, Ado-Ekiti, alongside top government officials.
During the visit, Shettima, who will be representing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, will officially commission the newly constructed Zonal Office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) located along Old Iyin Road, Ado-Ekiti.
He is also scheduled to inaugurate the 1.2-kilometre Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu Flyover at Okeyinmi, Ado-Ekiti, one of the flagship infrastructure projects of the Oyebanji administration aimed at easing traffic flow within the state capital.
The Vice President will further perform the groundbreaking ceremony for the Ekiti Knowledge Zone (EKZ), a strategic economic and innovation hub designed to attract investment, technology, and knowledge-based industries to the state.
This visit marks Shettima’s second official engagement in Ekiti State, following his earlier trip in May 2024, during which he inaugurated key road and healthcare projects including the Omisanjana–Deeper Life–Ajebandele Road and an MSME clinic.
Governor Oyebanji has assured that adequate arrangements have been made to ensure a smooth and successful visit, noting that the administration remains committed to strengthening collaboration with the Federal Government, development partners, and the private sector to drive sustainable growth in Ekiti State.
