TCN Announces Scheduled Maintenance at Eleyele Substation, Assures Minimal Power Disruption

Osogbo, Nigeria — The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has announced a scheduled preventive maintenance exercise at the Eleyele Transmission Substation, assuring the public of minimal disruption to electricity supply.

In a statement issued on Wednesday and signed by the General Manager, Public Affairs, Ndidi Mbah, the company said the maintenance would be carried out on the 63MVA 132/33kV power transformer at the facility on Thursday, May 21, 2026, between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.

TCN explained that the exercise is part of routine checks aimed at ensuring the continued optimal performance of the transformer and strengthening the reliability of the transmission network.

According to the statement, there will be no load loss during the maintenance period, as Eleyele 33kV feeders will be supplied from the Ayede 132kV Transmission Substation.

The company, however, noted that bulk power supply may be briefly interrupted during switching operations.

TCN reiterated its commitment to delivering stable electricity through regular maintenance and infrastructure upgrades across the national grid.
