This Is Political Gangsterism!’ Kachikwu Explodes Over ADC Convention, Accuses Rivals of Defying Court Order

ABUJA — Former presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Dumebi Kachikwu, on Wednesday came out blazing, describing the controversial ADC convention held by a rival faction as “political gangsterism” and a brazen violation of a court order.

Addressing journalists in Abuja, Kachikwu alleged that despite a Federal High Court directive on April 14 ordering all parties to maintain status quo, a group linked to former Senate President, David Mark, went ahead to conduct a convention.

“Despite the court order, these desperate politicians held a convention. That is political gangsterism. Can people who flout court orders mean well for Nigeria? The answer is no,” he fired.

The ADC chieftain accused the group of plotting to destabilise the party and the country, warning that their actions could trigger chaos.

“Their agenda is clear  if they can’t have it, nobody else should. They are ready to push this country to the brink just to grab power,” he alleged.

Kachikwu did not stop there, slamming opposition figures for what he called “empty noise” without solutions, following their criticism of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

“All Nigerians saw was a blame game. Nobody offered any solution, only insults. That is not opposition, that is confusion,” he said.

He also took direct shots at former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, and Labour Party’s Peter Obi, accusing them of failing to address insecurity and economic challenges linked to their regions.

“These are men who want power at all costs but have done nothing to fix the problems around them. They are playing politics with the lives of Nigerians,” he said.

Warning of looming danger, Kachikwu described Nigeria as “fragile” and cautioned that reckless political actions could backfire.

“The country is already under pressure. You cannot continue to sabotage institutions and expect peace. The same chaos they are trying to create may consume them,” he warned.

He, however, insisted that the “real ADC” would not be hijacked, assuring that the party would conduct its affairs in line with the law.

“We will not allow them to use ADC for their political vendettas. Our convention will be lawful,” he said.

In a closing remark, Kachikwu turned to President Tinubu, urging him to unite the country and avoid distractions from political opponents.

“You may have won the war, but you have not won the peace. Focus on uniting Nigerians before it is too late,” he advised.
