President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has condoled with the family of veteran Nigerian actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, following his death.
The condolence message was conveyed to the bereaved family during a visit by a representative of the Federal Ministry of Art, Culture, Tourism and the Creative Economy, who said the President’s sympathy was extended on behalf of the Federal Government and the Nigerian people.
The ministry described Ogogo’s death as a significant loss to his family, colleagues, fans and Nigeria’s wider creative community.
“His remarkable contribution to Nollywood and his dedication to the Nigerian arts will remain an important part of our creative heritage,” the ministry said.
The government also extended its condolences to Ogogo’s family, friends and colleagues, while acknowledging his contribution to the development of Nigeria’s film and creative industry.
The representative said the Federal Government mourned with the family and honoured the actor’s legacy, while praying for strength and comfort for those affected by his death.
The condolence visit underscored the government’s recognition of the role of Nigerian creative professionals in shaping the country’s cultural heritage and promoting Nollywood.
