Tinubu Swears In Two RMAFC Commissioners, Urges Reforms

Abuja — President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has sworn in two new Federal Commissioners of the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC), with the commission calling for strengthened transparency and equity in revenue management.

The newly inaugurated commissioners are Abdullahi Mukhtar Muhammad, representing Kaduna State, and Amina Ibrahim Gamawa, representing Bauchi State.

RMAFC Chairman, Mohammed Bello Shehu, said the appointments would support the commission’s mandate on revenue mobilisation, allocation and fiscal oversight.

“Your appointments are a call to greater national service and a recognition of your records of integrity, competence and dedication,” Shehu said.

He said the commission plays a central role in Nigeria’s fiscal framework and urged the new members to contribute to efforts to improve revenue allocation and economic management.

“The Commission occupies a critical position in Nigeria’s fiscal architecture. I am confident that your experience will strengthen efforts to promote equity in revenue allocation and enhance revenue mobilisation,” he said.

Muhammad is a former chairman of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria, while Gamawa has served in roles across the judiciary, legislature and public institutions.

The commission said it would provide support to the new members as they assume their responsibilities.

RMAFC said it remains focused on fiscal accountability and management of public resources.
