TOBI STORMS TO GLORY! Amusan Breaks Rabat Record, Claims First Diamond League Win

Nigeria’s sprint hurdling queen, Tobi Amusan, produced a stunning performance on Sunday, smashing her own meeting record to claim her first Diamond League victory of the season at the Rabat Diamond League.

The world record holder raced to victory in the women’s 100m hurdles in a blistering 12.28 seconds, equalling her season’s best and underlining her return to top form.

Amusan finished ahead of Devynne Charlton, who came second in 12.40s, while Nadine Visser settled for third place in 12.47s.

The Nigerian star erased her previous Rabat meeting record of 12.45s, which she set last year, to continue her impressive rise this season.

After finishing third in her opening Diamond League race and second in Xiamen last week, Amusan finally climbed to the top of the podium with a dominant display in Morocco.

The 29-year-old, a three-time Diamond League champion, has shown steady improvement with every race as she builds momentum ahead of major championships later in the season.

Amusan remains the women’s 100m hurdles world record holder after her historic 12.12s run at the 2022 World Athletics Championships in Eugene, USA.

With her latest victory and record-breaking performance, the Nigerian star has sent a strong warning to her rivals as she bids to reclaim the Diamond League title.
