Troops of Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK) have arrested suspected ISWAP collaborators, received the surrender of the family of a senior finance commander, and recovered logistics items in a series of intelligence-led operations in Borno State.
The military said the operations form part of sustained efforts to dismantle terrorist financing and supply networks across the North-East theatre.
On July 27, 2026, troops of 5 Brigade arrested six suspected ISWAP collaborators in Damasak. According to the military, preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects were involved in generating funds for the terrorist group through the procurement and sale of cattle in markets located in Gubio, Damasak and Ajuwango.
Items recovered from the suspects included a Volkswagen Golf vehicle, vehicle keys, four mobile phones, cow meat and ₦317,950.00. The suspects are currently in custody undergoing further investigation.
In a related development, the wife of an ISWAP Chief Finance Operative and her 11-year-old son surrendered to troops of 3 Battalion on July 29 through Kusuma Village.
The military disclosed that the woman’s husband, described as a senior ISWAP commander and the group’s Chief Finance Officer in Jubillaram, had earlier surrendered on July 25, 2026, and instructed his family to follow suit.
Both individuals have since been screened and are undergoing further profiling in line with military procedures.
Meanwhile, troops of 145 Battalion, acting on credible intelligence, carried out a clearance operation in Turoh, forcing terrorists to flee upon sighting advancing forces.
During exploitation of the area, troops recovered two motorcycles and large quantities of illicit hard drugs abandoned by the fleeing insurgents.
Operation HADIN KAI reaffirmed its commitment to intensifying intelligence-driven operations aimed at dismantling terrorist logistics and financial networks, while encouraging more insurgents and their families to surrender.
“The military urges members of the public to continue providing credible and timely information to support ongoing operations to restore lasting peace, security and stability,” the statement said.
