“We’re Back , Ready for 2027 Battle — Wike Fires Up PDP”

ABUJA — Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Barr. Nyesom Wike, has fired a strong warning to political rivals, declaring that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is back on its feet and fully set to contest the 2027 general elections.

Wike made the bold declaration at the PDP National Convention held at the Velodrome of the Moshood Abiola National Stadium on Sunday, brushing aside fears that the party could collapse after its prolonged internal crisis.

“By the grace of God, PDP will be in the ballot of 2027,” he said confidently. “We have conducted a convention monitored by the electoral umpire. That is the convention that is recognized.”

The FCT Minister hailed officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission, including Prof. Sani Adams (SAN) and Dr. Ken Ukeagu, for supervising the exercise, stressing that their presence gave the process credibility.

In a fiery tone, Wike described the convention as the PDP’s big comeback moment, saying the party has finally overcome the leadership crisis that once threatened to tear it apart.

He praised party faithful for standing strong during the storm, insisting that their loyalty has now paid off.

The former Rivers State governor maintained that the PDP has regained its strength and is now gearing up to take on opponents in the next electoral showdown.

“We are back,” he declared in effect, signaling what could be the party’s renewed push for power ahead of 2027.
