Wizkid Receives Grammy Plaque

Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, better known as Wizkid, a Nigerian celebrity, has finally received his Grammy trophy plaque.

The legendary singer earned the Grammy Award for Best Music Video for his collaboration with Beyoncé and her daughter, Blue Ivy, in “Brown Skin Girl” at the 63rd Grammy Awards.

Wizkid received his first Grammy nomination in 2015 for his album Views, which he co-wrote with Drake.

He also brought the trophy home with him at the time.

Critics have contended that Star Boy, as he is affectionately known, is not deserving of the title of Grammy winner because he received both awards through collaboration, but his admirers have defended him.

The Starboy became the only contemporary Nigerian musician besides Burna Boy to shine at the 2020 Grammys.

Wizkid took to his Insta story to showcase his trophy.
