2027: 100-Year-Old Yakasai Wishes Tinubu Victory

Elder statesman Alhaji Tanko Yakasai has wished President Bola Tinubu success in the 2027 presidential election, expressing support for the president at the inauguration of the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council in Abuja.

Yakasai, who said he was born in 1925, made the remarks on Wednesday while addressing party leaders and supporters at the event.

The centenarian expressed appreciation to Tinubu and the APC leadership for inviting him to the gathering, describing the occasion as an opportunity to reconnect with old friends and political associates.

“I would also like to convey my best wishes to Mr President, President Ahmed Bola Tinubu, and wish him success in the coming election,” he said.

Yakasai thanked God for preserving his life to the age of 100 and expressed gratitude to the president for giving him the opportunity to address the gathering.

He also commended the APC leadership for recognising him and extending an invitation to the inauguration.

“I know that at the moment, being born in 1925, I don’t have anybody that I can call my age-mate among you here,” the elder statesman said.

He concluded his remarks by wishing the gathering well and praying for God’s blessings.

Adeleke predicts victory for Tinubu

Also speaking at the inauguration, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke expressed confidence in Tinubu’s chances in the 2027 election, saying he could already feel victory coming for the president.

Adeleke, who recently aligned with the APC, declared his readiness to lead the campaign movement and mobilise support for Tinubu’s re-election.

He said the movement would not be stopped and predicted celebrations among the president’s supporters if Tinubu secured another term in office.

Known for his dancing at public events, the governor said the campaign would feature singing and dancing.

Adeleke also appealed to Nigerians to give Tinubu more time for his reforms to yield results, acknowledging that the policies had imposed difficulties on citizens.

He said his decision to join the campaign was driven by a desire to focus on action rather than excessive talk, adding that he had already started working towards the campaign’s objectives.
