2027: Kachikwu Accepts ADC Ticket, Vows To Rescue Nigeria

The presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress, Dumebi Kachikwu, has promised to lead an issue-driven campaign focused on national unity, economic revival and inclusive governance ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Speaking at the party’s convention in Abuja, Kachikwu said Nigeria was at a critical stage and required bold leadership to tackle insecurity, unemployment, economic hardship and social division.

He thanked party leaders, delegates and supporters for entrusting him with the party’s presidential ticket, describing his emergence as a call to national service and sacrifice.

“For too long, politics has benefited only a few while the majority of Nigerians continue to suffer. That must change,” he declared.

Kachikwu stressed that leadership should be about accountability and service to the people, rather than the pursuit of personal power and political interests.

The ADC flag bearer said the party was committed to restoring public confidence through policies anchored on competence, patriotism and merit.

He urged political parties to focus on practical solutions and clear economic plans capable of creating jobs, boosting industrial growth and improving the living conditions of Nigerians.

Kachikwu also called for greater inclusion of women and youths in governance, insisting that no nation could develop while sidelining critical segments of its population.

He assured Nigerians that the country could still achieve progress and stability through responsible leadership and collective commitment.

Also speaking, the National Chairman of the ADC, Abdulkadir Mohammed Bashir, urged members to uphold the party’s constitution and democratic principles.

Bashir warned against selfish interests and internal injustice, saying such actions often weaken political parties and create divisions.

Earlier, the Chairman of the party’s Board of Trustees, Kingsley Ogga, described the convention as a major turning point for the ADC, saying the party had remained united despite internal challenges.
