Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde has emerged as the consensus presidential candidate of the Allied Peoples Moment (APM) for the 2027 general election.
Makinde’s emergence marks a major milestone in the party’s preparations for the next presidential race as political activities gather momentum across the country.
The governor was presented with his Certificate of Return by the APM National Chairman, Alhaji Yusuf Dantali during a colourful ceremony in Ibadan attended by party leaders, delegates, supporters and political associates from across Nigeria.
Presenting the certificate, Dantali described Makinde as a leader with the experience, vision and capacity needed to provide purposeful leadership for the country.
He called on party members and supporters nationwide to close ranks and intensify grassroots mobilization efforts ahead of the 2027 elections.
According to him, the APM is determined to offer Nigerians a credible alternative capable of tackling the nation’s economic and governance challenges.
Speaking after receiving the certificate, Makinde thanked the party leadership and delegates for the confidence reposed in him.
He pledged to work closely with stakeholders across the country to advance the party’s agenda and build a stronger, more prosperous Nigeria.
The governor assured party faithful that he would justify the trust placed in him and provide leadership that would address the aspirations of Nigerians.
His emergence is expected to reshape the political landscape as parties begin strategic alignments and preparations for what promises to be a fiercely contested 2027 presidential election.
