The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has issued a public alert over a fraudulent Facebook page impersonating the agency to deceive and defraud unsuspecting Nigerians.
In a statement, the Service cautioned that the page operating under the name “Nigeria Customs Clearance board Authority” is fake and has no connection with the NCS.
“This page is NOT affiliated with the Nigeria Customs Service in any way,” the agency stated, urging the public to remain vigilant.
The NCS warned Nigerians to disregard any information, offers, or financial requests from the fraudulent platform, noting that such activities are aimed at misleading the public.
The Service also advised citizens to rely only on its verified communication channels for accurate updates and official information, including its Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), Instagram, Threads, and TikTok accounts under the handle “customsng.”
In addition, the agency encouraged members of the public to report suspicious online pages or activities falsely claiming to represent the Nigeria Customs Service.
The warning comes amid growing concerns over online scams and impersonation schemes targeting government institutions and the general public.
