The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, has commended the Olu of Warri Kingdom, Ogiame Atuwatse III, for his efforts to promote peace, unity and development in the Warri metropolis.
Keyamo, in a message congratulating the monarch on his fifth coronation anniversary, said Atuwatse III had demonstrated strong commitment to the stability and progress of the kingdom since ascending the throne.
Represented at the anniversary celebration by the Executive Assistant to the Delta State Governor on Political Matters, Dr Maurice Ojoede, the minister particularly praised the Olu’s recent peace initiatives and engagements with neighbouring kingdoms.
According to him, the move was timely, noting that cordial relationships among traditional institutions and communities were essential to sustaining peace and creating an enabling environment for economic and social development.
Keyamo said the Olu’s initiatives had also highlighted the important role traditional rulers could play in resolving disputes, building bridges and fostering peaceful coexistence.
He urged Atuwatse III to sustain his peace-building efforts, assuring the monarch of his support and goodwill as he continues to lead the Warri Kingdom.
The minister was among several dignitaries who attended the fifth coronation anniversary celebration. Others included Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori; Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu; Senator Joel-Onowakpo Thomas; Minister of Culture, Art and Creative Economy, Hannatu Musawa; traditional rulers, political leaders and other prominent Nigerians.
The anniversary also provided an opportunity for stakeholders to recognise the monarch’s contributions to peace, cultural renewal and development since his emergence as Olu of Warri.
His engagements with neighbouring traditional institutions have continued to receive commendation from political leaders and other stakeholders, who believe that peaceful coexistence remains critical to unlocking the economic and social potential of the Warri metropolis.
Ogiame Atuwatse III ascended the throne five years ago and has since pursued initiatives aimed at strengthening the traditional institution, preserving the cultural heritage of the Warri Kingdom and promoting unity and development among his people.
