The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has released the results of 632,788 candidates who sat for the first day of the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), conducted on Thursday, April 16, warning against attempts to manipulate scores using artificial intelligence and other digital tools.
JAMB’s spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin, disclosed this via his verified X handle, reiterating the Board’s resolve to uphold the integrity and credibility of Nigeria’s tertiary admissions process.
According to the Board, candidates can check their results through SMS by sending “UTMERESULT” to 55019 or 66019, using the same phone number registered for the examination. It, however, noted that only scores are currently accessible, as result printing has not yet been enabled.
JAMB cautioned candidates against falsifying or altering their results, particularly through the use of artificial intelligence or other electronic means, describing such acts as criminal offences that will attract strict legal sanctions.
The Board revealed that enforcement actions are already underway, with two candidates and one parent currently in custody for allegedly engaging in result falsification.
Reaffirming its zero-tolerance stance on examination malpractice and digital fraud, JAMB stressed that the UTME is still ongoing across the country, adding that more results will be released in batches as marking and verification processes are concluded.
