AKURE, NIGERIA – The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) will hold its state congress in Ondo State on Monday, with 150 delegates expected to participate, the party announced Sunday.
The congress is scheduled for 12:00 noon at a hotel in the Alagbaka area of Akure, the state capital, according to a statement by the party’s State Publicity Secretary, Owolola Adebola.
Delegates were drawn from all 18 local government areas of the southwestern state.
The party said the congress is being conducted in line with directives from its national headquarters.
NDC officials also expressed appreciation to members and stakeholders for their cooperation, which they said ensured the peaceful conduct of ward and local government congresses held ahead of Monday’s state-level event.
The Nigeria Democratic Congress is one of the country’s smaller political parties. Monday’s gathering comes as parties across Nigeria begin organizing ahead of the 2027 general elections, with internal leadership contests and delegate selections shaping the political landscape.
