ADC Secures First Polling Unit Win in Ekiti Governorship Election

Ado-Ekiti, June 20, 2026 — The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has recorded its first victory in the ongoing Ekiti State governorship election, winning a polling unit in Ikere Local Government Area.

Results from Ajagbala Hall Polling Unit in Okeruku Ward 02 show the ADC polling 39 votes to defeat the All Progressives Congress (APC), which secured 29 votes, while the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) came third with 17 votes.

The development marks an early breakthrough for the ADC as results continue to trickle in from across the state.

Meanwhile, the party’s governorship candidate, Ambassador Dare Bejide, has raised concerns over alleged violence targeting his supporters during the election.

Election officials are expected to continue collation of results as voting concludes in various parts of Ekiti State.
