The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has stepped up efforts to strengthen inter-agency cooperation in Kwara State, holding high-level engagements with the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) and the Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON) to enhance coordination and improve enforcement outcomes.
Acting Area Controller of the NCS, Kwara Area Command, Deputy Comptroller Najeem Ogundeyi, said collaboration among government agencies remains critical to achieving national objectives, stressing that no single institution can function effectively in isolation.
“Inter-agency collaboration remains fundamental to achieving our mandates. We must continue to strengthen synergy, share intelligence, and support one another to ensure effective service delivery and the successful implementation of government policies for national development,” Ogundeyi said.
The Customs boss spoke while hosting the Kwara State Commandant of the NSCDC, Abbas Mohammed, and the State Coordinator of SON, Oyewopo Abdulrazaq, during separate visits to the Command headquarters on April 28, 2026.
According to him, the engagements were part of ongoing efforts to deepen mutual understanding, improve intelligence-sharing and identify new areas of cooperation among enforcement and regulatory agencies operating in the state.
In his remarks, NSCDC Commandant Mohammed described the meeting as a significant step towards strengthening operational ties between the two agencies, noting that enhanced collaboration would improve security and enforcement efficiency.
Similarly, SON State Coordinator Abdulrazaq underscored the importance of sustained partnership, stating that closer cooperation would help boost regulatory compliance and protect consumers from substandard products.
The renewed push for synergy comes amid growing emphasis on coordinated enforcement and regulatory alignment as key drivers of effective governance and national development.
