Premier League champions Manchester City have confirmed Enzo Maresca as the club’s new head coach following the departure of Pep Guardiola.
The Italian tactician signed a deal that will keep him at the Etihad Stadium until June 2029.
Maresca returns to City after previously serving as part of Guardiola’s coaching crew during the club’s historic treble-winning campaign.
The 45-year-old is expected to immediately take charge of first-team affairs and also play a major role in the club’s transfer plans ahead of the new season.
City officials believe Maresca’s possession-based style and tactical philosophy make him the perfect choice to continue the club’s winning tradition after Guardiola’s successful reign.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed the appointment, saying Maresca had already signed his contract with the club.
An official unveiling and announcement of his backroom staff are expected in the coming days.
