Fubara’s Brother Joins Rivers Gov Race, Promises One-Term Tenure

Blessing Fubara, younger brother of Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara, has declared his intention to contest the state governorship election under the platform of the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC).

Fubara promised to serve only one term if elected, saying his mission was to restore peace, stability and economic prosperity in Rivers State.

Speaking ahead of the party’s primary election, he described himself as a competent and energetic candidate ready to rebuild the state.

“We have lost opportunities. We have lost investments. We have lost our dignity as a people. We have lost our pride as Rivers people,” he said.

The governorship aspirant also pledged to sustain the state’s zoning arrangement, insisting that Rivers South-East Senatorial District must complete its eight-year tenure.

“I have vowed to do just a four-year one-term tenure to bring the expected prosperity and development in Rivers State,” he stated.

Fubara urged supporters across the 23 local government areas of the state to mobilise for the party’s primaries, maintaining that popular support remained his biggest strength.

“We might not challenge the financial capacity that they have, but we know that we have the people, so we are richer in capacity,” he added.

He further appealed to other aspirants in the race to support what he described as a movement to restore Rivers State’s lost glory and political stability.
