Ado-Ekiti, June 20, 2026 — The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has begun uploading results from the Ekiti State governorship election to its Result Viewing Portal (IReV), with 36 per cent of polling unit results already made available.
As of 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, INEC had uploaded 846 out of 2,445 expected polling unit results, reflecting steady progress in the digital transmission of results following the conclusion of voting across the state.
The uploads, which began after voting, sorting, and counting were completed in several polling units, are part of INEC’s transparency mechanism for real-time public access to election results.
Preliminary data from the IReV portal showed that several wards in Irepodun/Ifelodun Local Government Area recorded early uploads, including Iyin I Ward with 9 of 23 polling unit results, and Igbemo Ward with 9 of 21. Other early reporting areas include Are Ward 02, Igede I–III, Afao Ward, Iworoko Ward, and Awo Ward.
In Igede I Ward, 5 of 15 results had been uploaded, while Igede II and III recorded 4 of 15 and 1 of 11 respectively. Iworoko Ward had 3 of 22 results uploaded, while Awo Ward recorded 3 of 12.
Election officials confirmed that voting ended at about 3:00 p.m. in most polling units, after which sorting and counting of ballots commenced.
The governorship election, conducted across Ekiti State’s 16 local government areas, witnessed significant voter turnout, according to election observers and officials.
INEC is expected to continue uploading results as collation progresses across the state.
