Mahmoud Dedicates Ministerial Award to FCT Residents, Pledges Renewed Commitment to Service

Minister of State for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Dr. Mariya Mahmoud, has dedicated her “Minister of State of the Year” award to residents of Abuja, describing the recognition as a call to deepen service and commitment to the development of the nation’s capital.

Mahmoud received the award at the 6th Accolade Yellow Ball and Awards held at the Congress Hall of Transcorp Hilton, Abuja.

Speaking at the event, the minister said the honour reflected the collective efforts of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) under the leadership of the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike.

She noted that the recognition would serve as motivation to sustain ongoing reforms and contribute to the transformation of the FCT in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu.

According to her, leadership is rooted in service, compassion and the creation of opportunities that improve the lives of citizens.

Mahmoud dedicated the award to FCT residents, particularly women, youths and community leaders, whose support and cooperation, she said, had strengthened the administration’s resolve to deliver inclusive governance.

“The confidence reposed in the administration remains a driving force behind our policies and programmes,” she added.

The minister also commended the organisers of the awards for promoting excellence, integrity and innovation in public service, stressing the importance of recognising performance in fostering accountability and national progress.

She further urged Nigerians to remain committed to peace, unity and nation-building, especially as the country approaches the 2027 general elections.

Mahmoud expressed optimism that sustained collaboration between government and citizens would ensure continued growth and development in Abuja and across the country.
