Tinubu’s Road Projects Will Transform Kwali Economy, Says Council Chairman

The Chairman of Kwali Area Council, Nuhu Daniel, has hailed President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, saying the newly commissioned Gomani–Dafa–Yangoji Road will boost agriculture, attract investments and transform the economy of the council.

Daniel, who spoke with journalists on Tuesday after the commissioning of the road, said the project has ended years of hardship caused by poor road infrastructure and seasonal flooding.

According to him, farmers in the area can now transport their produce to markets with ease, a development he said would stimulate economic activities across the council.

“Now all our farm products will be brought out, and I think it will also boost economic activities within the area because we have farmlands and several other productive activities around here,” he said.

The council chairman recalled that before the intervention, residents suffered serious setbacks whenever the bridge around Tungan Sarki overflowed during the rainy season.

“Honestly speaking, before the construction of this road, there were terrible challenges here. We also have another bridge around Tungan Sarki. That bridge cost us a lot because sometimes a large volume of water would overflow it,” he said.

He explained that the flooding prevented farmers from reaching their farms, disrupted businesses and stopped many students from crossing to neighbouring communities to attend school.

“When that happened, people couldn’t cross to get to their farms and businesses were halted. It was especially difficult for students because they couldn’t cross to neighbouring communities to attend school,” he added.

Daniel said the successful completion of the road is clear evidence that President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda is yielding results

“I think solving this problem has given us a green light. It shows that the government is on board and that the Renewed Hope Agenda of Mr. President is being fulfilled and is ongoing,” he stated.

He expressed confidence that the road would attract more investments, create jobs and open up more economic opportunities within Kwali and the Federal Capital Territory.

“With the commissioning of this road, more economic activities will be attracted to this environment. It will bring more development not only to Kwali Area Council but to the entire FCT. It has created an enabling environment for businesses to thrive and will also generate more job opportunities,” he said.
