A House of Representatives aspirant for Oshodi-Isolo Constituency II on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mr. Segun Tomori, has pledged to provide unifying leadership and reposition the constituency for effective representation if elected as the party’s candidate.
Tomori, a former Special Assistant on Media to the Minister of Solid Minerals Development, said the constituency requires a fresh approach capable of healing internal divisions within the party and restoring public confidence ahead of the next general election.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the aspirant attributed the APC’s loss of the constituency in the 2023 election to internal wrangling, factional disputes and what he described as ineffective leadership within the party structure.
He observed that divisions among party stakeholders had continued to widen, warning that the situation could further weaken the APC’s chances if not urgently addressed.
According to him, his aspiration is driven by the need to unite party members and provide purposeful representation that would place Oshodi-Isolo Constituency II on a path of sustainable political and socio-economic development.
“My mission is not to align with any faction but to serve as a rallying point for reconciliation, unity and progress within the party,” he stated.
Tomori added that the constituency deserves leadership with the capacity, experience and energy to mobilise party faithful and effectively challenge the opposition in future elections.
The aspirant also appealed to party leaders, youths and stakeholders across the constituency to support his bid during the APC House of Representatives primaries scheduled for May 16, 2026.
He urged members of the party to place collective interest above personal ambitions and support candidates committed to the progressive ideals of the APC.
Tomori maintained that his candidacy represents a departure from what he termed the old political order, promising inclusive leadership, accountability and renewed grassroots engagement if given the mandate.
