Katsina, Nigeria — The Katsina State Police Command has received the Deputy Inspector-General of Police in charge of Finance and Administration and supervising the North-West zone, DIG Sulaiman Muhammad Abdul, on an operational visit aimed at assessing the security situation in the state.
According to a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu, the visit also included a courtesy call on Governor Dikko Umaru Radda at the Government House, Katsina.
During the visit, DIG Abdul expressed condolences to the government and people of Katsina State over the death of late Major General Rabe Abubakar, describing the loss as a significant blow.
He also appreciated the state government for its continued support to the Nigeria Police Force and other security agencies operating in the state.
Governor Radda, in response, thanked the DIG for the visit and condolence message, while commending the Inspector-General of Police for deploying senior leadership to evaluate the security situation in the state.
He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to working closely with security agencies to safeguard lives and property across Katsina.
At the Command Headquarters, the visiting DIG was received by the Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of Zone 14, AIG Bello Shehu, alongside the Commissioner of Police, Katsina State Command, CP Ali Umar Fage, and senior officers of the command.
The AIG Zone 14, in his welcome address, appreciated the visit and reiterated the zone’s commitment to effective policing and operational efficiency.
The Commissioner of Police also presented a briefing on the command’s security architecture and recent operations against criminal elements in the state.
Addressing officers and men of the command, DIG Abdul commended their efforts in combating crime and urged them to sustain operational momentum while adhering strictly to human rights standards in the discharge of their duties.
He also reiterated the commitment of the Inspector-General of Police to improving personnel welfare and strengthening operational capacity nationwide.
The Deputy Commissioner of Police, Finance and Administration, DCP Aminu Usman Gusau, in his vote of thanks, expressed appreciation for the visit and assured that all directives would be implemented in line with the policing vision of the Inspector-General of Police.
