Barcelona face a demanding set of fixtures in the 2026-27 UEFA Champions League league phase after Thursday’s draw in Monaco, with matches against Manchester City, Aston Villa and reigning champions Paris Saint-Germain among their eight opponents.
Under the competition’s single 36-team league format, each side plays eight matches — four home and four away — against two teams from each of the four seeding pots. The top eight advance directly to the round of 16, while teams finishing ninth to 24th enter a playoff round.

The Catalans will host Enzo Maresca’s Manchester City at Spotify Camp Nou in a high-profile reunion that features Spanish midfielder Rodri, who joined Barcelona from City in a major summer transfer. They will also welcome Europa League winners Aston Villa, managed by Unai Emery.
The toughest away assignment is a trip to Parc des Princes to face two-time defending champions PSG, managed by Luis Enrique. The French side, who retained the trophy by beating Arsenal on penalties in last season’s final, will also travel to face both Manchester City and Aston Villa.
PSG’s other league-phase opponents include home games against Barcelona, Roma, Galatasaray and Slovan Bratislava, plus away fixtures against Manchester City, Aston Villa, Villarreal and Como.
The league phase begins between 8 and 10 September 2026, with the final matchday scheduled for late January. The knockout stages start in February, and the final will be played on 5 June 2027 at Atlético Madrid’s Metropolitano Stadium.
Barcelona, under Hansi Flick, will look to secure a top-eight finish to avoid the playoff round and maximise their chances of a deep run in the competition.
