Presidential candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Prince Adewole Adebayo, has felicitated with Nobel Laureate, Professor Wole Soyinka, on his 92nd birthday, describing him as a living legend whose life continues to inspire millions across Nigeria, Africa and the world.
In a congratulatory message, Adebayo praised Soyinka’s unwavering commitment to justice, truth and human dignity, saying his contributions to literature and democratic ideals remain unmatched.
He noted that as Africa’s first Nobel Laureate in Literature, Soyinka has remained a fearless voice of conscience, consistently speaking against injustice and defending the oppressed.
According to him, the celebrated playwright’s enduring legacy is a reminder that nation-building requires courage, sacrifice and principled leadership.
“At 92, your voice remains one of conscience, reminding us that nation-building requires courage, sacrifice and moral leadership. Your legacy transcends borders and generations, standing as a testament to the enduring power of ideas and the responsibility of citizens to uphold justice,” Adebayo stated.
The SDP presidential candidate prayed for God to grant Soyinka continued good health, strength, peace and many more years of impactful service to Nigeria, Africa and humanity.
He added that the literary icon’s wisdom and exemplary life would continue to inspire generations to come.
