Security operatives have arrested three suspected logistics suppliers linked to the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) during a coordinated operation in Borno State, targeting the group’s supply network.
The suspects—Fandi Adam Konto, Aji Bura Modu, and Tijjain Abubakar Aisami—were intercepted around Mainok village in Kaga Local Government Area while allegedly transporting medications and consumables to terrorist enclaves.
The operation was carried out by the Department of State Services (DSS), Borno Command, in collaboration with Forest Guard operatives, following credible intelligence.
Security sources said the arrests were made in the early hours of the operation, with the recovered items taken into custody as investigations continue.
Authorities noted that the suspects are believed to be part of a logistics chain supporting insurgent activities in the North East, particularly by supplying essential goods to fighters in remote areas.
The operation is part of ongoing counter-insurgency efforts aimed at dismantling terrorist supply routes and weakening the operational capacity of ISWAP and affiliated groups.
Security agencies reiterated their commitment to intensifying intelligence-driven operations to curb insurgency and restore stability in the region.
