NLNG, NMDPRA Strengthen Ties to Boost Gas Sector

Abuja, Nigeria — June 26, 2026 — The Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Nigeria LNG (NLNG), Mr. Adeleye Fayemi, has met with the Authority Chief Executive of the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA), Malam Rabiu Abdullahi Umar, to deepen collaboration aimed at advancing Nigeria’s gas sector.

The meeting, held at the Authority’s headquarters in Abuja, provided both organisations an opportunity to reinforce their longstanding relationship and explore areas of mutual interest within the midstream and downstream petroleum industry.

Speaking during the visit, Malam Umar reaffirmed the Authority’s commitment to strategic partnerships that support effective regulation and sector growth in line with the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA).

He stressed the importance of collaboration in driving gas utilisation, strengthening energy security, and boosting national economic development.

The discussions also centred on improving efficiency, sustainability, and regulatory frameworks to enhance the performance of Nigeria’s gas value chain.

The engagement underscores ongoing efforts by key industry players to align operations and policies toward maximising the country’s vast gas resources.
