Operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps in Kano State have arrested 10 suspected criminals over alleged vandalism, theft, criminal conspiracy, trespass and receiving stolen property.
The command’s Public Relations Officer, SC Ibrahim Abdullahi, disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday, saying the suspects were arrested during separate operations carried out across different parts of the state.
According to him, the arrests were made in Gwarmai, Ghari Local Government Area, Challawa Industrial Area, Unguwar Rimi and Waratallawa in Kumbotso Local Government Area.
He said the suspects were paraded at the command headquarters by the State Commandant, Mohammed Hassan Agalama.
Items recovered from the suspects include 200 metres of aluminium conductor cables, handsets, copper wires, power banks and dangerous weapons such as knives, cutlasses, swords and scissors.
Abdullahi said investigations had been concluded and the suspects would soon be charged to court.
The command reiterated its commitment to protecting critical national assets and tackling criminal activities across the state.
It also urged residents to continue supporting security agencies with useful information to help combat crime in Kano.
