The Intercontinental Evangelist of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Johnson Oluwatomisin Kalejaiye, popularly known as J.T. Kalejaiye, has urged Christians to remain steadfast in difficult times, assuring them that divine encounters can turn seasons of sorrow into joy.
Pastor Kalejaiye,, gave the charge during the “Moment of Grace” programme organised by Pastor Steve Oluyombo, pastor in charge of RCCG FCT Province 7, in Gwarinpa, Abuja.
Speaking from Luke 7:12-15, the cleric explained that people experience different kinds of encounters in life, noting that while some encounters bring blessings, others bring pain and disappointment. He stressed, however, that an encounter with Jesus has the power to permanently change unpleasant situations.
“This morning, Jesus has come to visit us and He is a blessing to us. He is the King of kings, the Lord of lords, the Alpha and the Omega. He can heal, deliver, open doors and restore destinies,” he said.
Using the biblical account of the widow of Nain whose only son was raised from the dead, Kalejaiye said God still intervenes in situations that appear hopeless.
“When a man loses his parents, he loses his past. When he loses his spouse, he loses his present. When he loses his children, he loses his future. I pray for every parent here, you will never bury your future,” he declared.
According to him, the widow’s story changed the moment she encountered Jesus on her way to the cemetery, adding that divine intervention can end seasons of weeping and despair.
“Jesus gave her attention, had compassion on her and restored her son. Those waiting for her at the cemetery waited in vain. Those waiting for you to fall will wait in vain,” he stated.
The cleric further assured worshippers that God would replace sorrow with testimonies and celebration.
“Throughout this year, people will congratulate you and not sympathise with you. God will give you miracles that will wipe away your tears,” he added.
Pastor Kalejaiye also encouraged believers not to lose faith despite life’s challenges, stressing that God’s mercy remains available to those who seek Him sincerely.
Citing biblical examples such as Blind Bartimaeus, the ten lepers and the lame man at the pool of Bethesda, he said divine mercy has the power to restore lives and destinies.
“Everyone who cried for mercy in the Bible received answers. Mercy provokes God’s intervention,” he said.
He further urged Christians to cultivate the habit of thanksgiving, noting that gratitude attracts divine favour and breakthroughs.
“When we pray, we get God informed, but when we praise Him, we get Him involved,” he stated.
The programme attracted worshippers from different parts of the Federal Capital Territory for prayers, worship and spiritual exhortation.
