***Commends Him for delivering karsana access roads
***Says Era Of Abandoned Projects Is Ending
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has revealed that he instructed the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Barr. Nyesom Wike, to construct access roads and provide engineering infrastructure to the 3,112-unit Renewed Hope City in Karsana before anyone could move into the estate.
Tinubu, who spoke through Senate President Godswill Akpabio on Friday while commissioning the 10.5-kilometre access roads to the Renewed Hope Cities and Estates in Karsana West District, Abuja, said housing projects can only achieve their purpose when supported with quality infrastructure.
The President recalled that during the groundbreaking ceremony for the housing project, he gave Wike a clear directive to open up the district through the construction of roads and other supporting infrastructure.
According to him, the newly completed road network has now connected Karsana West District to the Outer Northern Expressway, making the estate accessible to civil servants, families and prospective investors.
Tinubu praised Wike for what he described as his commitment to timely project delivery, saying the minister had transformed abandoned projects into functional infrastructure across the FCT.
He declared that the era of “awarded and abandoned contracts” in Abuja was gradually giving way to completed projects that directly impact the lives of residents.
The President also commended the Minister of State for the FCT, Mariya Mahmoud, engineers and officials of the FCT Administration for ensuring the successful completion of the project, while applauding Lubrik Construction Company for delivering the contract according to specification and within schedule.
He assured contractors handling government projects that his administration would continue to ensure prompt payment for quality jobs executed on time.
Earlier, the minister of the Federal Capital Territory)FCT) Barr. Nyesom Wike recalled that Karsana had no access roads when Tinubu performed the groundbreaking for the Renewed Hope Estate in 2024, making many developers doubtful about the viability of the project.
He said he assured investors that the government would construct the roads, urging them to remain confident in the Renewed Hope Agenda.
Wike attributed the successful execution of the project to the Federal Government’s prompt funding and the contractor’s commitment to meeting deadlines.
The minister also announced that the FCT Administration would next Wednesday flag off the construction of the Kaba–Kagini–Zaudna Road following appeals by residents over the deplorable condition of the route.
In her remarks, Mariya Mahmoud described the access roads as another milestone under President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, saying the project would improve connectivity, boost economic activities and expand access to affordable housing in the territory.
She urged residents to protect the infrastructure to ensure it serves future generations.
