2027 Hajj: FCT Fixes N7.5m Deposit, Opens Registration

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has kicked off registration for the 2027 Hajj exercise, announcing N7.5 million as the minimum deposit for intending pilgrims.

In a statement issued on Thursday, the Board said all prospective pilgrims wishing to perform the 2027 pilgrimage through the FCT must pay a minimum deposit of N7,500,000 through a bank draft payable to the FCT Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Abuja.

The Board said the registration exercise will end on September 25, 2026, in line with the deadline set by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON).

According to the statement signed by the Board’s Chief Information Officer, Ahmad Saleh, intending pilgrims are to submit their bank drafts at the Board’s headquarters in Gudu District, Abuja, near the FCT Judicial Service Complex.

Applicants are also required to present a valid international passport valid until at least October 2027, a photocopy of their National Identification Number (NIN) slip, four recent passport photographs with a white background, as well as a guarantor’s valid means of identification, passport photograph and contact details.

The Board warned that it would not accept cash payments or registration by proxy, urging all intending pilgrims to comply with the laid-down procedures.

It advised interested applicants to complete their registration before the deadline to avoid being shut out of the 2027 Hajj exercise.
