Real Madrid have completed the signing of highly rated Spanish striker Carlos Espí from Levante in a €25 million deal, acting swiftly to secure one of Spain’s most exciting young talents after the departure of Gonzalo Garcia.
The Spanish giants confirmed the transfer in an official statement on Thursday night, announcing that the 21-year-old forward has signed a five-year contract that will keep him at the club until June 30, 2031.
“Real Madrid C.F. and Levante U.D. have reached an agreement for the transfer of the player Carlos Espí, who will be linked to our club for the next five seasons, until June 30, 2031,” the club said.
Espí had attracted strong interest from several English clubs, including Brighton and Hull City, but Madrid moved decisively to trigger his release clause and win the race for his signature.
The young striker arrives after an impressive spell at Levante, where he scored 20 goals in 66 appearances across three seasons. His standout performances last season saw him named the league’s Best U-23 Player, highlighting his rapid rise in Spanish football.
An international at youth level, Espí has featured for Spain’s U-19 and U-20 teams and is widely regarded as a forward with pace, intelligence and clinical finishing.
His arrival comes at a crucial moment for Real Madrid, who were left short of attacking options following Garcia’s exit earlier in the day, and signals the club’s intent to invest in youth while maintaining elite competitiveness.
