The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has appointed a former Director of Procurement in the Federal Capital Territory Administration, Onsachi Musa Idris, as Senior Special Assistant on Procurement.
Idris, who retired from the civil service on Friday after over 30 years of service, previously served as Director of Procurement in the FCTA.
In a statement issued by the minister’s Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media, Lere Olayinka, the appointment was described as a move to leverage Idris’ extensive experience in administration, finance, and public sector procurement.
Olayinka noted that Idris rose through the ranks to become Director, Common Services (Procurement) in August 2019 before he was redeployed to the Department of Procurement as Director in July 2021.
According to the statement, Idris played significant roles in overseeing procurement processes and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards during his time in office.
He added that the former director had garnered vast experience across key administrative and procurement functions, contributing to improved efficiency and service delivery within the FCTA.
The appointment takes immediate effect.
