Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Barr. Nyesom Wike, has urged residents of Abuja to embrace love, compassion, and unity as they celebrate Easter, while assuring them of tight security and ongoing infrastructure projects across the capital.
Speaking in his Easter message on Friday, Wike congratulated Christians for completing the 40-day Lenten fast, describing the resurrection of Jesus Christ as a symbol of “new beginnings and renewed hope.”
“This Easter, I urge everyone to rededicate themselves to love, service, and harmony in our communities. Let’s show Christlike kindness to one another and work together for a peaceful and prosperous FCT,” he said.
The minister reassured residents that security measures have been beefed up to ensure hitch-free celebrations, while also highlighting the impact of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda on the territory’s rapid transformation.
“I am proud to be part of this journey of development. Roads, bridges, and key infrastructure projects are changing Abuja and our satellite towns. Easter is also a time to celebrate the progress we are making together,” Wike added.
The FCT boss called on residents to use the festive period to reflect on values of compassion, unity, and service, saying they are key to building a peaceful and thriving capital city.
